Couples Counseling

You never imagined your relationship would be the wreck it is today.

The constant arguing…

Sleeping in separate rooms…

The stress of being in the SAME room…

You’ve had enough.

You hate that it’s got to this point, but…

You don’t see how things will ever change, so you can’t help but consider separation or even divorce.

At the same time, you know you love your partner, and given a choice, you would choose healing over leaving.

You just don’t know if healing is possible at this point.

This is your fork in the road!

You know that if you continue on the same road, you and your spouse will only hurt each other more and drift further apart. Plus, you know that children can’t grow up strong and healthy in a home in conflict, even if you stay together for them.

But if you leave the relationship, you know the statistics about how broken homes negatively impact children: higher rates of mental illness, suicide, drug use, poor self-esteem, etc.

The fighting, defensiveness, and reactivity have reached a point where you’re each in your corner, seeing the other as the enemy.

If things continue, this relationship will either break or destroy everyone connected. You need help!

Counseling allows each of you to be heard.

I work with couples in crisis – those struggling with daily relationship conflict or having trouble coping with events in their past.

Maybe you feel no hope for your relationship after years of trying and failing. Or perhaps you think your relationship is so broken after all that has happened that there’s no way to regain trust and move forward together.

One or both of you might be unwilling to keep trying, causing further distance and separation.

You may have gotten to the point where you’re done with the relationship… but you’re too afraid to move on because of the impact it could have on you or your children.

In couples counseling, there’s no more back and forth about how you are hurting each other.

Stop questioning whether this will work. It will!

From our first meeting, you’ll start learning what you as individuals need from each other and the relationship. It usually takes a formal setting like this for you to hear each other and acknowledge what the other is saying without getting defensive or aggressive.

In a marriage, one partner will often express their needs, and the other will either dismiss them or explain why they shouldn’t feel that way. Couples counseling disrupts that tendency, allowing you each to be understood by the other.

This is an opportunity to hear each other, which is the first step. You can only meet the other’s needs and show them love and respect.

Our time together will also help you understand the negative communication patterns that may have developed. We’ll explore better ways of communicating that remove the defensiveness and reactivity pushing you apart.

When you commit to the process, trust, forgiveness, love, and respect will seep back into your relationship, allowing you to be one again.

Do this for yourself, your spouse, and your children!

I know you want your family back so you can all live happily and free again.

It’s okay to need help. And even if your spouse is not ready to join you, you can take action alone to start the healing process and bring change to your home.

I’m here to help you heal and have numerous success stories proving this works!
