FAQ

Where is your office?

My office is located in the heart of historic Richfield at:

3967 Broadview Road
Richfield, OH 44286

What are your office hours?
I can typically accommodate any hours Monday through Friday from 5 am – 8 pm. Saturday appointments can be scheduled upon request.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I can accept most major insurances, including; Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Cleveland Clinic Aetna, Medical Mutual, Cigna, United Health Care, and Optum, among others. If your insurance is not listed, please let me know so I can obtain paneling to work with you.
What is your cancellation policy?
I allow cancellations more than 24 hours before your visit free of cost. Within the 24-hour grace period, I also waive one no-show once per year in the event of an emergency. After that, there is an $85 charge for each cancellation less than 24 hours before your appointment. This is needed to ensure your time and our time are valued and to maintain your commitment to continued progress.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes, including documentation.
Do you work with all demographics, religions, and races?
Yes, I have expertise working with all ages, from 10 to adulthood. I invite all ethnicities and backgrounds and have a sensitivity and respect for everyone’s culture.
Do you provide Clinical Counseling or just Christian Counseling?
I provide strictly research-driven clinical counseling to all of our clients. A Christian perspective is offered to those seeking healing in that context.
What types of modalities are used in counseling?
Though each client is different, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used in most cases to address negative thought patterns and establish a more healthy, self-directed thought process. Talk therapy and exploration of traumatic history in childhood and throughout life generally treat trauma in unison. I also take a more existential approach when working through spiritual concerns while respecting each individual’s value system.
Do you offer online telehealth therapy?
Yes, I offer telehealth therapy for any seeking that avenue. I believe this is beneficial in some cases for the feasibility of schedule or location. If you can come in person, I encourage you to do so.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Call, text, or email! I know your time is valuable, so I will return any communication within 24 hours and provide you with dates/times available for the earliest appointments.
If I am a Steelers Fan, am I welcomed at A Foundation of Faith?
Absolutely! Though this was hard to say when I first opened, some of our best clients followed the Steelers before coming to counseling. I see you as an amazing person with an unhealthy attachment issue. Joke!
How is an engineer now a counselor?

I will admit I am a recovering engineer with a heart for helping people. 🙂

You’ll be surprised that some of the lessons I’ve learned before becoming a full-time counselor apply to setting and making progress toward those goals.

Do you counsel men only?
Absolutely not. Though some women seek women counselors only, you will be surprised how quickly trust and compassion are built in our session so that both male and female perspectives can result in life-changing solutions to all of life’s problems.
